The Face in the Mirror

I got up one morning,

And saw a Face in the mirror.

I tried to wipe the glass clean,

But the Face, I saw no clearer.

It belonged to someone I know, but not very well,

And is someone I dearly love.

The Face, it was not mine.

It carried the promise of peace, just like a dove.

I rubbed my eyes, and looked much closer,

The Face was surrounded by a golden glow.

Again I looked, twice as hard,

I saw it was whiter than snow.

"My God!" I cried,

"This Face is a Heavenly guest!"

"Why me, what for, why now?"

The Face I saw, came with a quest.

"Please, do not be afraid or ashamed,

For that which you shall seek,

Is an honor that I give to you.

It is full of life, and this promise I speak."

"I know you don't understand,

But I'll be with you all the way.

For this quest I give to you,

Will be finished on your Final Day."

"Please, do not hesitate,

For that is not where your journey ends.

Yes, it's true, your time on Earth will be done.

But that is where real life begins."

"For now you only see in part,

But the day is near

When you shall see and understand all,

For the Face in the Mirror shall be crystal clear."
